John's Notes: "I was down in the Man Cave Studio messing around a little with the opening drum part and the main riff on a 12-string, and while I really liked the progression, I was having trouble finding any lyrical inspiration. I went surfing through lyrics only songs looking for collaborations, and this just jumped out immediately. The phrasing of the first verse just fit the chords perfectly, and the song took shape around that. I barely had to change anything, it just fit like a glove.

Musically, this is inspired by lush 90's pop like The Sundays. The chords have lots of major 7ths that give it a nice ringing feel with a bit of melancholy. Two guitars, 12-string electric in the left channel and Telecaster in the right, using the preset that's supposed to sound like "Just Like Heaven". Plus a couple of organ and synth tracks thrown in. It's more of a wall of sound, but I hope there's enough movement in the individual parts that you can make out the cool little touches. Drums are acoustic... I'm still a beginning drummer, and this pattern was a lot harder to play than I thought it would be!"
